Please not that during the month of August I will be trying to get all fees and memberships processed and sent to Archery GB for the new shooting year which begins the 1st October 2018. The fees are as follows (Archery NI fees to be published , currently £17 for Junior and £26 for Senior)/ Archery GB Membership Fees from 1 October 2018 Membership Category: Full Year Pro-rata* Direct Member – Senior (aged 25 and over) £54.00 N/A Club Member – Senior (aged 25 and over) £46.00 £23.00 Seniors members aged 18 to 24 (inc) – all categories £12.00 £6.00 Juniors (under 18s) – all categories £12.00 £6.00 Archers with Disabilities – all categories £12.00 £6.00 Therefore fees are (Club fee + Archery NI and Archery GB)

Ciaran Campbell Memorial Competition

The competition will take place a Boucher Road Playing Fields on the 14 & 15 July. The competition is open to archers of all abilities. Saturday WRS 2 x 720 Sunday (ArcheryNI combined target and field championships, WRS 720 & 12 x Marked Field) Non record status short targets available. Online entries via the club Facebook page.

It is with a heavy heart that today we have learnt the sad news that a true gentleman and friend to many has passed away. Ciaran was a man who was vastly respected and will be greatly missed. On behalf of City of Belfast Archers I wish to extend our sympathy to his family and friends.

Invitation to apply for NI Teams now on the Archeryni website The British Senior Target Championships 11/12th August 2018 at Lilleshall, Shropshire This event will host the Home Nations match on the second day of the Championships (WA1440 round). Teams consist of 8 archers (2 GR, 2 LR, 2GC and 2LC) Euronations & Commonwealth Europe Archery Championship 17-19th August 2018 at Sherwood Archers, Nottinghamshire. This event is a team competition comprising 12 archers (3 GR, 3LR, 3 GC and 3LC). Junior Euronations Championship at 2018 Youth Festival 29th July to 3rd August 2018 at Lilleshall, Shropshire Within the Youth Festival week there is a mixed team event. Team comprises 4 cadet archers (boy & girl recurve shooting 60m + boy & girl compound shooting 50m) For selection criteria see ArcheryNI website Closing date for applications is 6pm on Monday 18th June 2018 for ALL events. As a contribution to travelling and entry costs Archery NI is pleased to offer a fixed payment of £150 per adult archer per competition in recognition of your representation of NI. Junior archers will have their entry costs paid for; transport to the festival is already covered. Payments will be made after your participation in the event(s).

GDPR will be replacing the Data Protection Act 1998 and will become enforceable in the UK on 25 May 2018. All Archery clubs, counties & regions will need to comply with the regulations or penalties could be imposed, including very big fines. GDPR is already here and the period from now up to 25 May 2018 is for implementing any changes that organisations need to make to become ‘GDPR compliant’. Regardless of Brexit; the legislation will remain enforceable “When you become a member of or renew your membership with City of Belfast Archers you will automatically be registered as a member of either (Archery GB and Archery NI) and/or Archery Ireland if applicable. We will provide (Archery GB and Archery NI) and/or Archery Ireland if applicable with your personal data. Archery GB will then use the data to enable access to an online portal for you ( which, amongst other things, allows you to set and amend your privacy settings. Coach Education Courses

Belfast City Council have the following Coach Education Courses available:- Safeguarding - Thursday 17th May at olympia Leisure Centre from six pm to nine pm Designated officer - Thursday 14th June at Shankill Leisure Centre from six pm to nine pm First Aid in Sport - Wednesday 23rd may and 30th May at Weavers Court from sixpm to nine pm. If you would like to book onto any of these courses please contact Ellen Rogers on 02890270344 to see if place is available and then speak to Kevin Bloomfield or David Hurst. The club may cover the cost of these courses. Currently waiting on more details from Belfast City Council

AGB Key Stage Event

COB archer Megan Bryer competed at the ArcheryGB Key stage event over the weekend and came away with a silver in the tier 1 recurve cadet individual and silver in the team event

Jay Saunderson takes maximum points in the Gents Cadet Compound finishing 1st on both days and his dad Mark ranked 3rd on day 1 of the gents senior compound.

List of Coaches and Level 1/2 Coaching Courses: Director of Coaching, Hazel Campbell, would like to request your assistance in the following: In order to ensure my list from Archery GB is current (I think I am missing a few coaches) could you let me have a list of all active coaches in your club - their level and when they have to be renewed? In order to cover the needs of clubs could you also advise if anyone is interested in completing a Level One Coaching Course, or if any Level 1 coach is interested in progressing to Level 2? Please send details to my e-mail if you hold a coaching qualification or interested in doing obtaining a level 1 or 2 award.

Archery NI Privacy Notice: Another new posting on the Governance page of the ANI website is the ANI Privacy Notice which relates to the new General Data Protection Regulation which comes into force in May. Please take the time to read this and encourage your members to view it also. As individual clubs you will also need to decide and document your own data protection policy, if this hasn’t already been done.
