First things first, getting started
Contact your local club - hopefully City of Belfast Archers, but if not you can use either
Please bear in mind our club is run by volunteers so you will find a form and email address on our contact page. We will hopefully offer you a beginner’s course, the first step into the world of archery
Beginner's course? What is that?
Our beginners course are 9-12 hours of "lessons" over six weeks covering all the basics you need to get you shooting, from safety to rules, understanding technique to different disciplines within archery. At the successful completion of a beginner’s course you will be issued with a certificate.
How much does it cost?
City of Belfast Archers charge £45 per person for a beginner's course. There is a reduced rate of £30 for Junior's. Juniors are classed as being from 8 to 18 years of age.
I'm interested, now what?
Contact us ASAP. At City of Belfast Archers we ask that you return a completed booking form with a cheque and which courses you can attend. Please be aware that courses book up very quickly and we cannot guarantee a place on the course you want, but we will do our best to match you with a suitable course.
When are courses run?
During the winter (September to May), beginner's courses are held at our indoor venue - 1-7 Hillview Road, Belfast, from 19:30 to 21:00. From June to the end of August, we are outdoors at Boucher Road Playing Fields.
Acceptance onto the courses will be on a first-come, first-served basis after the details are posted, so please keep checking back. For a more indpeth description of our Beginners course follow the link below, or contact us to ask to be put on our waiting list.FAQ Get In Touch
